If we were to believe all the most up to date health news then we would know that one of the most important parts of our body is the colon. A healthy colon is essential if we want to live a healthy life and promote our general wellbeing. If you think about it, it makes sense. The colon is effectively our waste disposal system and if it gets blocked with waste products that it cannot get rid of, it can have a detrimental effect on our health. Wheatgerm, seeds, and plain nuts are great foods also, especially eaten in their raw state. Lentils and beans are excellent choices. Whilst they may not be the most exciting foods the more you eat them the more you will find you like the tastes and textures. When you think how much healthier these foods will make your feel, they suddenly take on a better taste!
Another thing you might like to think about is adding yogurts to your diet. Look for the varieties that contain ‘good bacteria’ and many adverts mention this phrase these days. Check the contents for Lactobacillus. This is the good bacteria we are looking for and is one of the most beneficial bacteria and also helps to boost your immune system.
